This great performance was recorded in the second of 2 concerts on November 30, 1952
Recorded by Furtwangler, Toscanini, Klemperer and other great conductors ?
It is virtually impossible .Beethoven will always be on Demand.

Listening to the present performance one can hear how, in the grand sweep of the drama the conductor is intent on Realizing as many details as possible.

The amazing unity -in - diversity of the first movement ,which has an unpresedentent number of elements, welded together at even more unprecedentent lengths, is expounded and searched with such eloquent
Precision that one is forced to ask whether interpretation can ever have been as great as this. And the desolation and grandeur
Of the Funeral March, described by Furtwangler as ' fearless grief' show his capacity for taking music to the limits of expressiveness without a hint of sentimentality or romantic distortion. This whole performance will come as a revelation to anyone Who thought they knew Eroica Symphony but has not previously heard Furtwangler conduct it.
That can be said almost about every performance Furtwangler conducted in his lifetime, and that maybe the reason why Furtwangler is the most famous conductor in the world.
This recording ,as any other recording by Furtwangler is a must in every serious music record library.
We should feel privileged and fortunate that such great recordings are issued in our life time, for us to Experience and enjoy..
