Let me just go on record by saying I loved all of his previous work, "Sometimes" was amazing, "Bring Me Your Love" was even better, and "Little Hell" was pretty good (I feel like Dallas hadn't found his sound yet, with a set-band). But this album is just nothing short of perfection, the instrumentals are amazing, the vocals are obviously incredible (because come on... it's Dallas Green). This has definitely proven to be one of my all-time favorite albums, what more can I say?
Brilliant album. Some tracks border on melancholy. Green's voice is unique and exceptional.
Use of diverse instruments (organ, pedal steel, viola) is right on. "Golden State" is
genius.
