Sir Adrian Boult , 1889-1983, English conductor. Boult studied conducting in Leipzig with Arthur Nikisch (1912-13). In 1930 he became conductor of the newly formed BBC Symphony Orchestra, and he was conductor of the London Philharmonic from 1950 to 1957. Boult led the premieres of many works by British composers and is considered an authoritative interpreter of Elgar and Vaughan Williams..

Campoli was a great teacher of a whole generation of orchestral violinists in Britain. His playing reflected his personality. He was much loved by orchestras and conductors alike...

I can't believe that gorgeous sound even on the 1950's fidelity.

..Wonderful and moving conducting by Mr. Boult also. .
