" Shawn Ward is in Vancouver, British Columbia, again — only this time it’s not just for the summer. It used to be that he and his family would spend most of their time in the breezy beachside town of Mazatlan, Mexico — their home base for 8 years. Sometimes they’d be in Ireland, where Ward’s mother is from.
Ward’s full-time return to his native Vancouver comes as he celebrates the release of a new FM Attack album, New World, which is a fitting name considering the circumstances."
(Frant Dunlany) " FM Attack returns with another collection of dreamy synths and fresh vocal tracks. So familiar, yet so distinct. And who can resist that album art? I'm riding the synthwave and see no reason to get off."
(Paul Harding ) "This is a really strong album! Intricate synth work, really good arrangements that sound perfect.Favorite track: Stranger (ft. Mecha Maiko)."
" On The Shoulders Of Definitely no "Deja Vu" to the previous albums - wonderful to see when artists are not afraid to develop further. The album is quite diverse and yet homogeneous: From Dreamwave tracks ("Dark Blue Sky") via Daft Punk ("Let You Go") to tracks of Gothic "Rock" and 80s/90s Darkwave, Sisters of Mercy ("New World") and Cure ("Believe"). In "Believe" Blake Voss apparently borrowed Smith's vocal chords. The highlight is "Shadows" with a nostalgic combination of 90s darkwave and synthwave. Favorite track: Shadows."
