Freddie Mercury's first solo album, which was recorded in Germany featuring German musicians. The album took roughly almost two years to complete on and off due to other commitments with Queen. Originally the album was to be named "Made In Heaven" but was changed before release to Mr. Bad Guy. However, the 15th and last album by Queen ended up with the title 'Made In Heaven' instead.
The music hits all the high notes - with vocals from Mercury soaring high above what most performers can. Of course,it should sound this way, seeing how all the tracks were composed, arranged, and designed by Mercury
This is definetly showing off Freddie’s incredible vocal range...
t's probably the most overwhelmingly 80's album I own, and that's not a bad thing. "Mr. Bad Guy" is FUN. It's upbeat, dancey at times, piled high with synthesizers, and contains a few nice--even Queen-worthy--ballads as well. Like Queen's 1981 album "Hot Space," this one might take a few listens to grow on you. Standout songs on the album include "Let's Turn It On" (incredible vocal performance), "Made In Heaven," "Man Made Paradise" (for some operatic vocals), "There Must Be More To Life Than This," and "Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow."
