A Record Store Day 2014 release in advance of Island Records' reissue of Nightclubbing the following week.

Me! I Disconnect From You was recorded at Compass Point Studios at the same time as Nightclubbing but unreleased until 2014. The track is a Tubeway Army cover, originally released in 1979 on Replicas. According to the liner notes for Nightclubbing, Gary Numan had been to Compass Point in 1980 with his bass player, Paul Gardiner, to work on studio neighbour Robert Palmer's album Clues.

Danny Tenaglia is incorrectly credited as the mixer for side A and the producer and mixer for Side B. The version of Feel Up is the original extended version released in 1981 that is also on the deluxe edition of Nightclubbing.

As part of the Record Store Day festivities next month, Island Records is releasing a remastered and expanded version of Grace Jones’ 1981 LP Nightclubbing, adding a raft of bonus 12″ mixes and B-sides to the various available formats.

Among the extras is this previously unheard cover of ‘Me! I Disconnect From You’, a track by Gary Numan’s new wave group Tubeway Army. Jones’ sharp ear for a cover version is what made Nightclubbing such an iconic album, of course, with Jones adding a sultry mood and a pinch of reggae to tracks by artists including Iggy Pop and Bill Withers.
