( exclaim) " Vancouver indie rock outfit Leisure Club showed off their youthful flair and previewed their debut full-length with "Still Young" earlier this year, .

The self-titled effort opens with the aforementioned single, leading into a 10-song set of breezy jangle-pop. Surf-y riffs, keyboard runs and dreamy vocal hooks swirl together, as the band address everything from studio-produced love ("TV Shows"), space exploration ("14,000 Light Years") and the superficiality of news ("Entertainment").

The album was recorded between Afterlife in Vancouver and the Noise Floor on Gabriola Island — an experience the band calls an "absolute dream."

"Going away to an island with your best friends is a dream in itself, to also be able to record a record while there is just a whole new level of awesome," they said in a statement. "The experience was a comfortable one and really promoted a sense of open creation without having the distractions of everyday life to hinder us. That laid back atmosphere really made its way into the recordings in a lot of subtle ways."

Leisure Club added that they want the tracks to simulate the experience of "escaping from the everyday drudgery of real life while still engaging and instigating meaningful thought."
