Now we have Unrepentant Geraldines , an album that triumphantly showcases the Tori of the 90's with a more refined , mature delivery with its complex song structures and beautiful vocals. One of the elements missing from age 50 Tori is the anger and fire of her youth, which is expected. Tori has restrained her anger but remains whimsical and eccentric as always . The title track is pure Tori with a mid-song piano breakdown that is just awesome .

Oysters may be her most beautiful song since Jackie's Strength or Father Lucifer , or at least Ophelia. Invisible Boy is heart-wrenching in its beauty . Even the odd, campy track Giant's Rolling Pin serves as a fun break in the melancholy of the album ;it feels like an old Beatles Tune from Yellow Submarine.

The piano playing on this album is stunning and well thought out . Tori's vocals have not sounded this good since Under The Pink . Tori may not be as wild as she was in the 90's and no longer has an axe to grind , but she is still one of the best artists around

I love how she switches up her voice (hitting those high notes), the melodies, and instrumentation in the songs to add layers and variety. A prime example of this is in the title track, which is one of my favorites on the album. There's a strong and passionate piano riff right in the middle of the song that initially takes you by surprise.

Oysters and Weatherman brought tears to my eyes the first few listens.
