"   a "last recital" at age 83. . The Mozart Rondo is charming. (Horowitz does not subscribe to the "jewel box miniature" style for Mozart). The Sonata, however, is celestial. Hearing it, I wonder if it has ever been better played! As we move on to the Lizst and Schumann and Chopin, it becomes clear that we are hearing the rarest of beauties- the still secure but extremely poetic, assured "what else could I possibly have to prove" music making of this great artist who saved the best wine for the last. This performance has nothing to do with being wowed but everything to do with sitting back for a unique experience with a musical marvel. And yes, he still has it in that effervescent Etincelles in the encores! I daresay"
